The Hermes-owned John Lobb brand (not to be confused with John Lobb Bootmaker) is out with a line of bespoke shoes inspired by the world’s capitals. Called “Spirit of Capitals”, the bespoke shoes cover 11 cities each inspired two pairs of bespoke shoes.

As you know, we can’t actually wear any of these since we’re not dudes, but wow – some of these cities got short shrift. If we had to buy a pair (and mind you, these are strictly bespoke & according to Forbes range from $6,500 to $10,000), we’d go with Tokyo’s pairing of a low boot and oxford, or perhaps Geneva’s boot pair (one sleek, one hipster-rough). Fancy yourself Scrooge McDuck? You might like the Moscow boots. That’s probably what we’d wear if we were men.

On the bottom of the list … we can’t really even talk about Dubai (we HATE men who wear sandals like those!) and Taipei, ugh. Paris …too effete and sneaker-shoe-like.

Located in an unassuming building in Manhattan’s Koreatown, this shirtmaker is a New York institution with roots in France — owner Atam Sahmanian’s father, Mark Sahmanian, worked for Charvet in Paris. He first started his own company in 1958, later moving it to the US in 1974.
